Saturday May, 9th rolled in and I went to work ready for a busy day. The day before Mother's Day is said to be the "Black Friday" of Garden Centers. I spent the day busy at Shorty's Garden. I was scheduled to get off at 6:10. The store was cleand out though, so they asked us to stay on later to get ready for the following day. I agreed to do so, not really having much to do back at home.
Little did I know, Devin had already been outside waiting for an hour. I had no idea he was coming. He had planned with my parents to come for the weekend. He arrived at Shorty's shortly after 5 and was going to wait for me to get off. My parents informed him the bad news of me working late. After waiting around for another hour and half, he decided to take action
Devin sent a gorgeous bouquet of roses up with my boss Collin. I was so confused when Collin was bringing me roses. I was trying to figure out what I did good at work to deserve roses, or maybe they were from the 18 year old that kept trying to ask me out, or maybe he just wanted me to arrange them for him? I was so confused. I was still baffeled when Collin said, "I have a delivery for you." Me, "uhh, who are they from?" Collin, "an nice young gentleman dropped them off." Me, "uhh, is he still here?" Collin, "yep, he's down by the gate."
At this point in time I peaked around the corner and saw Devin standing down in the parking lot. I was so excited to see him, I ran out there - bouquet of roses in hand. My radio fell off as I ran down, but I just kept going. I reached Devin, set the flowers down , and gave him a BIG hug! Everything was happening so fast! Devin then announced, "I have a question to ask you" and got down on one knee. In all the excitement I thought he asked, and answered yes! After a hug and kiss he informed me that I didn't even let him ask. He then got back down on his knee and put the ring on! Happy day!
Together, we went back up to work and asked if I could go home! They let me go. As we were headed out, my co-worker Paul congratulated us. He watched the whole thing and thought it was, "beautiful". It was beautiful!
