Feeding the Ducks

One of our favorite new activities is to go and feed the ducks. When we went the first time this year, it was a gray and chilly day. It was very obvious that the ducks hadn't been feed by people in a while. They swarmed us and fought over my 3 slices of bread. I couldn't break the bread up fast enough. There were a few times were I jumped a little because they were flying at us. Doran loved it though! 2 of the ducks even followed us off the dock for a while. We ended up having to chase them back down in order to get them to stop following us.

Baby's first Shower

We had a messy dinner and decided just to drop Doran in the shower. This was his first time standing in the shower by himself. He doesn't usually like water in his face, but he actually had a lot of fun in the shower.

The full picture is actually really cute, but I thought it was best to keep it pg.

Kids Quest Museum

Every third Thursday of the month Kids Quest Museum has a $1 entry night from 5-8. We're all about a good deal so we decided to take Doran.

http://www.kidsquestmuseum.org/

It was so packed that I'm not sure it was such a good idea. We couldn't really do much. It was a fun place though, so we'll have to go back when it isn't so busy.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night:

Playing at the water booth. He like squirting the balls to make them move.

Playing in a colorful house.

Glow in the dark fish!

I took Doran to the top of the tree house.

This is Doran peering down at Devin. I thought it was a cute view of him.

Who needs toys when you have a box?

I had a box of costco sized diaper wipes sitting by the door, waiting to go out to the recycling box, but Doran had other plans for that box.

We got a good couple of days of play out of this box. Seriously, he doesn't play with his toys that much. It was fun to watch him push it all around the house.

I put a light in it for him one day and he loved pushing his little car around.

What's inside the box?

His sippy cup and cell phone. Yes, he has his own phone. It can turn on, but it doesn't work as a cell phone. It is Devin's old Blackberry.

Hey! No texting and driving!

He especially loved it when he got to sit in the "car" and we pushed him around the house.

First Science Experiment

Doran had his first science experiment on Valentine's Day. Devin brought me home some sparkling cider for Valentine's Day and Doran was very interested in it! We let him try some (hated it, naturally) but he LOVED to see us pour it. So, once we ran out of sparkling cider we got out the vinegar and baking soda. It provided good entertainment for him.

Drinking from a box at dinner time.

I had to take a picture of Doran drinking the orange juice. He wanted the box so much, we finally gave it to him (it was empty). He thought it was the funniest thing to drink out of the box. We have so many pictures of Doran in this high chair! I love family dinner time. Devin and I both grew up in families where family dinner happened on a regular basis. I'm glad that we have schedules that allow us to have family dinner time. I think it is Doran's favorite time of the day too! Not only because he loves food, but because he loves the interaction of the 3 of us doing the same thing.

Cruise Vacation 2014 part 2

Huge thanks to Trevor for taking these pictures during our vacation!

Life on the Ship.

This is Doran the first day as we boarded the ship. SO excited and he didn't even know what he was getting into!

At dinner. Messy hair, but cute baby.

Hanging out in the pools.

Matching faces. Fun in the whirlpool

Leaving Florida

Playing shuffle board, a fun evening activity!

Doran was a pro. He watch for a while and then knew just what to do: use the stick to push the puck into the targets. Smart baby.

 The boys.

My blue eyed boys.

Devin learning how to surf.

Wipe out.

Cozumel.

In Cozumel, we went snorkeling and para-sailing. Snorkeling was fun, but it made me want to go scuba diving! Devin fed the fish cheerios!

Chris jumping into the ocean.

Doran's version of snorkeling. He had a lot of fun looking under the glass bottom boat.

 Hanging out on the beach.

About to go para-sailing

The view from the top was beautiful and so relaxing!

Chris held Doran while we went para-sailing. We were excitedly waving to him, thinking he was excited too, but Chris told us he started screaming after we floated away. I guess that would be pretty weird for a little guy to watch his parents fly away.

This is my favorite picture of Trevor para-sailing.

Doran took naps just about everywhere on this vacation.

Argh Matey!

Dinner

Doran loved our waitress. He blew her kisses, smiled at her, giggled with her. He really liked her. She said it made her want to have a baby.

The maitre d' also really liked Doran. She had a 2 year old at home who she hadn't seen in 6 months. That would be so hard. Doran also really liked her and loved playing with her.
