We went down to Vancouver for a weekend visit. I can't wait for the day that we have a house with a yard. It was so nice to just go out in the front or back yard whenever we wanted to play.
It rained and we played in the gutter puddle. One of my favorite childhood memories is racing cars down our street after a summer rain fall with my brothers. Stephen found some Styrofoam boats he made for a school project and we floated those.
We had the best pizza ever at a local restaurant and then came home for Doran's first ever s'more. I made him a memory book and it has one of these pictures of him in it. Sometimes when he sees it he says, "chocolate, marshmallow" (in his language, of course) over and over again. That boy loves chocolate. Clearly, learned that from me.
Except, he doesn't like to get his hands dirty. "hans, hans" means he wants his hands cleaned.

Clowards visit Seattle
Family from my Mom's side of the family (Grandma/Grandpa Cloward, Jamie, and Connie/Ron and their family) came to Vancouver for the week to visit my family. One of the days the drove up to Seattle and Matt and I showed them around.
We went and rode the Ducks again. Which was just as fun the second time.
We got to see hydro planes land and take off this time.
And, I was able to get a picture of the Hammering Man. He only gets labor day off.
Grandpa Cloward told my Dad it was the must fun he's had in a long time. I'm glad.
Next, we stopped at the Freemont troll. Matt took these next pictures. Doran was asleep, and I had already seen the troll and wanted Doran to be able to nap. I had the car power on, but not the engine. When they were done, I put the car in drive and pushed on the gas, and rolled down on the car behind us. Luckily, it only broke their license plate frame and gave me a tiny ding. Not my best downtown Seattle driving day.
We finished up a the Ballard Locks where we watch boats come up and down the canal.
I don't know why, but Doran loved this door. He just wanted to play there.

Happy Father's Day 2014
Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there. This is Devin's second Father's Day as a Dad! It is so much fun for me to watch Devin be a Dad. My favorite moment of Doran's delivery was watching Devin watch Doran. I still love watching the two of them together!
Doran got his name from Devin's Dad, Doran. Other than the name, any resemblance?
We've been working on a project of digitizing pictures of Grandpa Doran and I thought it would be fun to share a few today of Devin's Dad being a Dad. You Hills will have to let me know if we got all the babies right. I also decided to share pictures of Devin and Nathan holding Doran, because it shows how much they are like their Dad.

Devin - Doran's Dad
Doran is one lucky little guy to have Devin as a Dad. He loves his Daddy. Doran is always so excited when he sees Devin and screams, "DAA!!!!!!!!"Great Dads, Great Grandpas
We love you! Thank you for all you do for us and for Doran.

Train at the Mall
While we were in Vancouver for Stephen's graduation, my Mom wanted to take the boys to ride a train that goes around the mall. Cordin loves trains, but Doran wasn't really familiar with them yet. He was very interested until it came time to get in, and then he cried most of the train ride. He gets scared of things that move.
We stopped at Burgerville to get fresh Strawberry Milkshakes on the way home. Yum.
