Happy Father's Day 2014

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there. This is Devin's second Father's Day as a Dad! It is so much fun for me to watch Devin be a Dad. My favorite moment of Doran's delivery was watching Devin watch Doran. I still love watching the two of them together!

Doran got his name from Devin's Dad, Doran. Other than the name, any resemblance?

We've been working on a project of digitizing pictures of Grandpa Doran and I thought it would be fun to share a few today of Devin's Dad being a Dad. You Hills will have to let me know if we got all the babies right. I also decided to share pictures of Devin and Nathan holding Doran, because it shows how much they are like their Dad.

Devin - Doran's Dad

Doran is one lucky little guy to have Devin as a Dad. He loves his Daddy. Doran is always so excited when he sees Devin and screams, "DAA!!!!!!!!"

Great Dads, Great Grandpas

We love you! Thank you for all you do for us and for Doran.

Just like Daddy

All of January, I was working on taking pictures of things Doran did just like Mommy and or Daddy. Then, as we were preparing for our vacation, I deleted all of the pictures off of the memory card. I thought I had already transferred them to the computer. I hadn't. :( I also lot the best video of Doran. I'm still sad about it.

Doran really likes being just like us. He unloads the dishes, sweeps the floor, brushes his hair and teeth, blow dries his hair, takes pictures, and talks on the phone with the phone propped between his head and shoulder. It's cute.

I was able to save these 3 of Doran being like Devin!

Trying on Daddy's shoes.

One day, Devin stacked the rings upside down and then put the yellow cone in the stack. That is the only way Doran will play with the toy now. He wants to be cool like Dad.

Devin's Birthday

Devin's birthday started out, for me, as a failed birthday cake. I was trying to make fondant for the first time and it just wasn't as easy as it looked online. Luckily I had some rainbow chip frosting and it saved the day. Plus, what says happy birthday more than rainbow chip frosting?

For some reason, the blue fondant turned out, so I did the letters using that.

Doran was very fascinated with the cake.
And the smoke from the candles.

Devin wanted Doran to share in the birthday excitement. He loved his first cake.

After cake and ice cream, we put Doran to bed and headed over to iFLY Seattle for an indoor skydiving experience! Nathan came with us!

Yes, I got the ugliest jumpsuit. Devin got the coolest one. I guess he was the birthday boy.

At the end, the pro-instructor hopped in and grabbed on and took us all the way to the top!

Devin was a natural in there. The only one to do a 360!

Here are our flights. They all say Kristie, but they're not all me.

This one is Nathan.

And this one is Devin

And here is me!

Overall, great birthday! Happy Birthday Devin!!!

Take me out to the Mariner's Game!

We took Doran to his first baseball game! I don't think we really watched much of the game, but it was fun. It was LDS night and a lot of members from our ward were there sitting with us. We also got a free shirt! While I was out getting our free shirts, Doran was hit with a peanut butter cup! People were throwing candy up into the stands and one pelted Doran right in the head. Poor kid.

Doran tried on Devin's shirt. Matching.

Our seats were way up in the nose bleed section, but it gave us a great view of the city.

Thanks to our Engineer

A couple of weeks ago, the Young Women held a Yard Sale and I bought Doran a toy for $10. I took it apart and washed. Put it back together, put Doran in it and discovered he was still too small for it.

Devin, being our engineer, decided to fix it for him! He really took it apart and made his own notches and now Doran can sit just fine in it! Thanks Devin! Having an engineer for a husband is really handy.

His first reactions to being able to move around on his own were priceless!! He loved it.

He hasn't figured out how to move forward yet, but it will come! Too bad we have such a small space for him to move, most of our apartment is carpet.

Sunday Best!

Isn't he a stud?
This is the outfit he wore to church on Sunday. Grey pants, white button-up onsie and a red tie.
