Last of the first half

I was just uploading Doran's 6 month old pictures and I found a lot of pictures from last month that I just love.

Doran is reaching for everything these days, so this picture of him reaching for the camera is so fitting.

Yeah, the floor is messy. Who can clean with such a happy baby in the room?

This is how he fell asleep. Zonked. Haha.

He's been playing with his feet for a while now, but just recently realized they could go in his mouth. He's got a nice mouth full in this picture.

He was being really cute and playful during tummy time and I couldn't resist taking pictures of him.

Introducing: Cereal

We introduced cereal to Doran this past week. It's been fun to see his reactions. He's not very interested yet.

He didn't like rice cereal at all. He pushed, shoved, and ran away (or at least he would, if he could). We gave him a break from rice cereal.

And let him try Oat Cereal, which he likes a lot, sometimes. It is still hit or miss. Usually a miss. 

Feeding him is definitely a messy, messy job. I have a feeling that it is just going to get worse... 

Thanks to our Engineer

A couple of weeks ago, the Young Women held a Yard Sale and I bought Doran a toy for $10. I took it apart and washed. Put it back together, put Doran in it and discovered he was still too small for it.

Devin, being our engineer, decided to fix it for him! He really took it apart and made his own notches and now Doran can sit just fine in it! Thanks Devin! Having an engineer for a husband is really handy.

His first reactions to being able to move around on his own were priceless!! He loved it. 

He hasn't figured out how to move forward yet, but it will come! Too bad we have such a small space for him to move, most of our apartment is carpet. 

Dinosaur Pajamas

I love baby's dinosaur pajamas. He almost didn't get to wear them. For some reason I thought they were 6-9 months and not 3-6 months. Luckily I found them just in time!

5 Months Old

The week Doran turned 5 months old it was sunny and beautiful. Perfect timing to get great lighting for photos. But, we were too busy outside playing and didn't take them. When I finally got around to taking the pictures, the clouds were back. Sorry for the shadows.

Doran has more than doubled his birth weight, he know weighs about 16 pounds! He discovered his toes this week and it has been a lot of fun to watch him play. Plus, he can entertain himself more easily.

He loves to go outside. He is getting better at sitting up with support. He can even go 10-20 seconds by himself. His legs are getting stronger too! He likes to stand up, which gets very tiring for Devin and I. He hasn't rolled yet, but we're working on it!

I think this is the least he has changed in one month, as far as his size and weight. It is crazy to think I have a 5 month old! He seems like a baby now, not my little newborn.
