Western Caribbean Cruise

We went on a cruise with Devin's parents and 3 of his brothers (Nathan, Trevor, and Kalen). It was a great vacation! We left from Fort Lauderdale and stopped in Belize City, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico.
Doran was a rock-star on the flight out there. Our flight left at 6:30 a.m. and we were en route for 12 hours. We stopped in Denver and switched planes and had a quick stop in Texas. The stops actually helped because he could walk around and play on escalators.

Swimming

We had a great time! Doran loved the cruise. He still has the post vacation blues. Doran's favorite part was swimming! We are paranoid parents and sun blocked his head (he's so fair) and with all the sunblock we were able to get it to stand up!

Altun Ha

In Belize, we took a 30 mile ride to the Mayan ruins, Altun Ha. It was a very bumpy ride for those in our group sitting in the back of the 12 passenger van. It was mostly a bumpy dirt road. It was interesting to learn about Belize though and to see the city. 50%o of the population in Belize is teenagers! They had so many schools and all the kids wear uniforms to school.

The country land was very beautiful and it was neat to learn about the ruins.

Doran's favorite part of the ruins/rain forest was the All Spice tree. The tour guide gave everyone a leaf to smell and Doran enjoyed smelling it and making sure that everyone else did too!

We also pet a chameleon. Doran nor I were sure how we felt about it.

Nathan

On top of the world, Simba.

View from the top.

Chris and Matthew at the top of one ruin, viewing the other in the background.

Doran loved going down the stairs, "again Dad, again!" Devin, "no way"

Doran got to play George of the Jungle. Hopefully I'll get around to posting that video soon. It was pretty cute.

The rain forest

A cocoon nut.

Each level is for a different priest. Usually, a priest reigned for 100 years.

Exhusted. Poor kid. He had naps on the go.

Swimming in Cozumel

Doran was afraid of the sand but he really enjoyed the ocean! We went para-sailing and snorkeling here, but I let Trevor take all of the pictures. Part 2 to come when I get the pictures from him.

Good food

And of course, there was good food on the cruise. The waiters/waitresses spoiled Doran. They all loved him. They had fruit waiting for him when we got the restaurant and even cut up his meat.

The uncles thought it was funny to play peek-a-boo with Doran after he was done eating and his hands were all nice and messy.

Bacon on the go.
