Happy Father's Day 2014

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there. This is Devin's second Father's Day as a Dad! It is so much fun for me to watch Devin be a Dad. My favorite moment of Doran's delivery was watching Devin watch Doran. I still love watching the two of them together!

Doran got his name from Devin's Dad, Doran. Other than the name, any resemblance?

We've been working on a project of digitizing pictures of Grandpa Doran and I thought it would be fun to share a few today of Devin's Dad being a Dad. You Hills will have to let me know if we got all the babies right. I also decided to share pictures of Devin and Nathan holding Doran, because it shows how much they are like their Dad.

Devin - Doran's Dad

Doran is one lucky little guy to have Devin as a Dad. He loves his Daddy. Doran is always so excited when he sees Devin and screams, "DAA!!!!!!!!"

Great Dads, Great Grandpas

We love you! Thank you for all you do for us and for Doran.

Train at the Mall

While we were in Vancouver for Stephen's graduation, my Mom wanted to take the boys to ride a train that goes around the mall. Cordin loves trains, but Doran wasn't really familiar with them yet. He was very interested until it came time to get in, and then he cried most of the train ride. He gets scared of things that move.

We stopped at Burgerville to get fresh Strawberry Milkshakes on the way home. Yum.

Stephen's High School Graduation

Doran and I went down for Stephen's High School graduation. We picked Matt up on the way. Doran enjoyed having Matt's company on the drive.

My grandparents (Nan an Pop) decided that week to drive up for the graduation too. Ally and Cordin hoped in the car and came with them. It was fun to watch Cordin and Doran play. They don't play together, but there is something about another kid around that makes it more fun to just play.

I feel so bad, because I took some awesome pictures of Stephen outside in his cap and gown gear, but I deleted them before they got on a computer. Still have these ones though:

Riding the Ducks with Devin's Mom

Devin's Mom was able to come and visit us the beginning of June and we had a great time!

Doran and I went out with her to Moses Lake for 2 days to visit family there. We had a big dinner with all the extended family and the girls did nails. Hanging out with the Hills is always a good time. Doran had fun chasing the older boys around.

Devin took a day off and we lazed about, took Doran to the doctors (he had another ear infection) and took Chris to some of Doran's favorite play places. The park and the ducks.

On Saturday we went with Chris and Nathan and rode the Ducks in Seattle. It was fun, something Devin and I should have done when we first moved out here. It is a good tour of the city and gives you ideas for other things to see and do.

Doran had a great time.  He loved the music, the water, and of course the quacker

Car Obsession

To say Doran loves cars, is an understatement. Every waking moment (that he's not eating) is devoted to cars. He wakes up in the morning, drinks his milk, and then says, "Ca'!"

He gives Devin and I specific cars to play with and you better not let him catch you putting it down. He gets all mad and hands it to you again, "Ca'!"

Uncle Nathan came over for dinner a couple of weeks ago. Doran showed him a car and Nathan responded by making the usual car "brrmmm..." noise. A little later Nathan made the comment, "I didn't realize me saying 'brrmmm' was a binding contract" as Doran insisted that he continue playing cars with him.

He finds cars to play with, wherever we go:

He could watch the movie Cars every day, if we let him. One of my favorite pictures of Doran is this one (I'm still sad that it is so blurry):

We had him watch Cars as we cut his hair, and he was so anxious about Lightening being lost from Mack, he shouted along, "MACK!!!"

One night while I was at YW, Devin tipped our old couch (it previously belonged to his Aunt) and found Doran a whole bunch of new cars. Doran was so excited to have new cars.

We decided to feed his obsession and bought him a Cozy Coupe. The first 2-3 days, all he did was get in and out. No one was allowed to touch his car. And he cried every time we made him do something else. I'm pretty sure it is the most he's cried in his whole life.

He'll do other things now (that involve cars), but he still likes getting in his Cozy Coupe!

Hey! No texting and driving!
